Colin R. Milne – Matched Pair of Miniature Scottish Landscapes 19th Century Oil on Board 1873 P3320
These are real gems, deeply romantic, each measuring 5 3/4″ x 10″, in 9″ x 13 1/2″ frames. The frames have definitely suffered finish loss but the paintings are really fresh, in very good condition. Sold as a pair.
One is titled Showery Weather, Head of Loch (indecipherable), and the other is Noon, Head of Loch Striven, Sketch’d from Nature. Both signed C.Milne. Colin Milne was known as a lithographer and born in Scotland in 1817. He would have been 56 at the time of these paintings, vigorously tramping the glorious Scottish countryside.
