North American Rockwell Submarine Desk Toy 1968 A2563
Made of metal and plastic and a large component of whimsy, this delightful object very much mirrors the free and ironic spirit of the 1960s, when a sophisticated frivolity was part of a fresh new corporate approach to achieving promotional objectives. The toy celebrates a very serious advance in oil exploration actually, the 1968 Beaver Mark IV.
Measures 7 1/2″ x 4″ x 3″.
We are pretty certain that at least a few of these fell into the clutches of actual children and were thoroughly played with.
